Dental clinic: organization, kit, inventory...

I finished the work done by previous dental team (name and country unknown to me; that is why I suggested this blog website to have follow up of the work done at the dispensary) in organizing drawers by "kit".

I gathered the instrument and material by dental speciality using colored "tape-and-tell" rings and tape. I also try to keed the drawers with minimum instrumentation so it will be easy to find what we need. Other material are either under the counter or in the dispensary pharmacy. ENDODONTIC INSTRUMENTS AND MATERIAL are needed, especially to condensate and seal the canal. There is no prosthodontic material except to take alginate impression. I don't recall if there are impression trays...

Operative Dentistry: composite filling and various instruments

There is no Rubber dam.

Dental burs and polishing kit are needed.


 

Operative Dentistry / amalgam filling

I was not able to use the amalgamator (beige machine containing mercury and alloy ready to be mixed). I used the machine to "shake" the pre-dosed amalgam compule by attaching the compule with a rubber band around the beige machine arm...

 

Dental surgical instruments

A lot is needed especially since some of the instruments are rusted by water sterilization.

also needed:

root elevator
different size of straight elevator
minnesota or seldin retractor
putts elevator

Emergency medication should be brought on every dental mission since the expiration dates of ephinephrine, salbutamol, cortisone may vary




 

Dental aseptia part II

Every dental staff should bring their own masks and gloves and leave some there.

As most of developping asian country, tuberculosis is an issue and proper mask should be selected.

Dental aseptia part I

Needed:

an autoclave to have sterile wrapped instrument

sterile towels or clean towels (there is a washing machine and using some presept or bleach you could at least have "clean" towel)

scaling instruments, anesthetic kit, examination kit, some material

Needed:

prophylaxy cups and paste, dental floss
more mini-piezon (EMS) ultrasonic tips




 

Dental Chair, unit and x-ray machine

Handpiece connector: one with 3-hole and one I changed for a 4-hole.

a mini-piezon scaler is also functionnal on the unit.

Developper and fixating solution is needed for manual developping.

Occlusal x-ray is also needed for dentition, as well of jaws and... broken finger....
